Delaware County Master Gardener Association
to Award Two $2500 Scholarships for 2020
OSU Extension Delaware County Master Gardener Association (DCMGA) awarded two $2,500 scholarships in 2019. A scholarship went to Josiah Bale of Lewis Center, studying Greenhouse and Nursery Management, and a scholarship to Ella Nichols of Powell, studying Environmental and Agricultural Engineering.
For 2020 the Delaware County Master Gardeners will again, be awarding two $2500 scholarships. The scholarships are honoring Terri Litchfield, Delaware County Master Gardener since 2013 and a champion and educator for Ohio native species.
Applications must be submitted by May 31, 2020.
Ohio Master Gardeners are Ohio State University-trained volunteers empowered to educate others with timely, research-based gardening information. Almost 100 master gardeners in Delaware County routinely answer questions, teach classes, perform community service, and attend programs to increase their horticultural knowledge. In 2019, Delaware County Master Gardeners donated 4,318 hours of volunteer service in Delaware County and completed 1,985 educational hours in various advanced gardening topics.
