The Delaware County Master Gardener Association is proud to name the 2018 Master Gardener Scholarship in honor of Charles Glass. Charles has selflessly contributed his time and expertise to improve the horticultural knowledge of Delaware County. He has been a Master Gardener for more than 14 years and during that time, has been called on many times to provide education regarding plant propagation, seed starting, and vegetable gardens to the community at Ready Set Grow, and to the Master Gardener’s Intern Class. He always makes complex topics seem simple and generates excitement and enthusiasm in the audience. His straight-forward explanations and broad-based knowledge are made the more enjoyable by his ample sense of humor.
He has been farming in Delaware County for many years. During the growing season he supplies home-grown vegetables to the Friday Amish Auction and the Saturday Sunbury Farmer’s Market. During the week, he vends his vegetables in the store on his farm to his many local customers.
The DCMGA is extremely fortunate to have him as a volunteer. He is an inspiration and an important asset to us and to all Delaware County gardeners. We thank him so much for all he does on our behalf.
